The Constitutional Court Delegation paid a working visit to France/Strasbourg on 22-25 June 2022, under the Project on Supporting the Effective Implementation of the Constitutional Court Judgments in the field of Fundamental Rights, which is undertaken through joint initiatives of the Constitutional Court and the Council of Europe.
President of the Constitutional Court Mr. Zühtü Arslan, presiding the Constitutional Court Delegation, was accompanied by Vice-Presidents, Deputy Secretary General and Chief Rapporteur-Judges of the Constitutional Court.
Within the scope of the visit, the Constitutional Court Delegation held meetings, on 23 June 2022, with Mr. Robert Spano, President of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), ECHR Vice-President, ECHR Judge Ms. Saadet Yüksel, as well as with the judges of the Second Section. The Delegation then attended the meetings with the participation of the Turkish Division and Turkish jurists holding office in the ECHR.

President Arslan attended the official opening ceremony of the ECHR’s judicial year held on Friday, 24 June 2022 following the presentations delivered by Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe for Migration and Refugees Ms. Leyla Kayacık, Head of the Implementation of Human Rights, Justice and Legal Co-operation Standards Department Mr Frédéric Dolt, Head of Türkiye Unit of the Council of Europe Ms. Könül Gasimova, Representative of the Venice Commission Mr. Michael Janssen.
