Mr. Zühtü Arslan, President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey, attended the Judicial Conference of the Highest Courts of the G20 (J20) held in Argentina.

Mr. Arslan delivered a presentation titled “Role of the Turkish Constitutional Court in the Protection of State of Law in Turkey” at the meeting organized by the Supreme Court of Argentina in Buenos Aires on 8-10 October 2018.

Stressing the considerable contribution of the individual application mechanism to the reinforcement of the state of law in Turkey, Mr. Arslan also mentioned of several jurisprudence of the Turkish Constitutional Court on legal certainty and access to justice, the two elements of the principle of state of law.

During his visit to Argentina, President Mr. Arslan exchanged information with the delegations of the highest courts of G20 countries and also paid a visit to the Turkish Embassy in Buenos Aires.
