President of the Turkish Constitutional Court, Mr. Kadir Özkaya, hosted Vice President of the Supreme People's Court of China, Mr. Shen Liang, and the accompanying delegation, who were on a working visit to Türkiye upon the invitation of the Court of Cassation.

The meeting, held at the office of President Özkaya, was also attended by Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Ankara Mr. Jiang Xuebin, Vice-President of the Constitutional Court Mr. İrfan Fidan, Secretary General of the Constitutional Court Mr. Murat Azaklı, and Secretary General of the Court of Cassation Mr. Mehmet Fatih Belviranlı.

President Özkaya expressed his satisfaction with the visit of Vice-President Mr. Shen Liang and the accompanying delegation. Highlighting the significant contributions of mutual exchange of knowledge and experience between high judicial institutions to the advancement of legal systems, President Özkaya stated that the use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in judicial services has, in today’s context, created new opportunities and areas of discussion in the field of law, including constitutional adjudication. He further noted that institutional cooperation and the exchange of experience among countries have become increasingly important in this regard.

President Özkaya stated that such engagements further reinforce mutual understanding and dialogue between judicial bodies, noting that the planned visit to the Supreme People's Court of China in July would also represent an important opportunity for strengthening bilateral relations between the two high courts.

Vice-President Shen Liang conveyed his gratitude to President Özkaya for the warm hospitality during the meeting. He underlined the importance of exchange of knowledge and experience among high judicial institutions and noted that the effective and proper use of artificial intelligence and technological developments in the legal field has become a significant area of concern for contemporary judicial systems. Expressing that they closely follow with appreciation the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye’s experience and institutional capacity in the field of constitutional adjudication, Mr. Shen Liang stated the Turkish Constitutional Court enjoys a respected standing not only in Türkiye but also within the international judicial community. He also touched upon Türkiye’s global role and its relations with China and emphasised the need to strengthen cooperation between the judicial systems of the two countries.
